Economy Class MORE EXPENSIVE than FIRST CLASS! Flying to Koh Samui, Thailand Flying to Koh Samui Island, Thailand on Bangkok Airways is expensive. If you ask yourself what the title is all about? Basically all flights to Koh Samui Island are very expensive as there is little to no competition for Bangkok Airways. Flying in Thailand is generally very cheap so it happened to me that my flight from Bangkok to Phuket in (real) FIRST CLASS cost me the same amount as this short 40 minute ECONOMY CLASS flight to Koh Samui.
