TRIP REPORT | Japan Airlines 787-9 (ECONOMY) | Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo Narita! Trip Report of my JAL Japan Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo Narita in Economy Class. The flight was operated by a brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This 6 hour and 30 minutes long flight was very enjoyable. This was my first time flying a Japanese Airline and the service was like a dance choreography - everything perfect! The service started shortly after departure with a light snack and drinks (late night departure). After a few hours of fantastic sleep breakfast was served before our landing at Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT). Noteworthy about this Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft is the cabin layout! First of all it is a heavy premuim configuration (ratio of Business and Premium Economy Class vs Economy Class is very high). There are 52 Business Class Seats, 35 Premium Economy Seats and only 116 Economy Class seats in the back of the aircraft. The Economy Class on this 787 aircraft has seat less per row (2-4-2 configuration instead of the usual 3-3-3) which makes the experience even more pleasant. Seat for my wing view was 50A.
