TRIP REPORT | FIRST Air Italy A330 (ECONOMY) | Rome FCO to Milan MXP | Empty Flight! Support me on Patreon: https://patreon.com/PlaneSpottingBerlin FIRST TRIP REPORT of the NEW AIR ITALY Airbus A330-200! Join me on this nearly EMPTY Flight from Rome Fiumicino (FCO) to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) in Economy Class. Seat for this Wing View is 25A. Air Italy (rebranded - formerly Meridiana) has received it's first Airbus A330-200 with the registration EI-GFX. The aircraft used to fly for Qatar Airways - the airline who recently bought 49% of ex Meridiana. With this large stakehold they also initiated this rebrand and will guide the airline through future expansion! This first Airbus A330 is a new aircraft type to the fleet of Air Italy and so Crew Training flights were conducted - this flight being one of them. I was extremely lucky to be on one of the few flights (most flights were planned to be operated by the A330 but about 95% got changed to a Boeing 737-800 instead). So I actually ended up being onboard the 10th ever revenue flight of the newest addition to Air Italy's fleet - the A330 in the new repaint and the with the new cabin!
