EXTREMELY POWERFUL AIR ITALY A330-200 TAKEOFF from Rome Fiumicino Airport! Seat for this Wing View is 25A. Air Italy (rebranded - formerly Meridiana) has received it's first Airbus A330-200 with the registration EI-GFX. The aircraft used to fly for Qatar Airways - the airline who recently bought 49% of ex Meridiana. With this large stakehold they also initiated this rebrand and will guide the airline through future expansion! This first Airbus A330 is a new aircraft type to the fleet of Air Italy and so Crew Training flights were conducted - this flight being one of them. I was exemely lucky to be on one of the few flights (most flights were planned to be operated by the A330 but about 95% got changed to a Boeing 737-800 instead). So I actually ended up being onboard the 10th ever revenue flight of the newest addition to Air Italy's fleet - the A330 in the new repaint and the with the new cabin!
